the new internet by the time i lived was a warzone. 13 year olds making art then gets into an argument why their favorite artist is what they called proshipper. youtubers calling out why natural adult content are taboo. kids channels robbing every last drop of hellbent content. why (highlight the blacked out) verbalase paid an artist to do a self thirst trap of charlie morningstar magne running to get him and strip him. tumblr sexyman contests. ena (a character in an animation by joel g) turned into a "webcore mascot". i am crying every second. would someone go save these troubled animal bandwagon with the touch of wholesome old internet.
old internet had two sides. just like the itnernet now. but the new, sleeky modern internet suffered from owning many identities. just like the political compass. the turn of 90s had the family pages and 2006 had 22 year old girl bloggers sharing their piece of life and knowledge. 2013 was the early sign of the lifeless modern sites but retained frutiger aero aesthetic. but that gave birth to YTPs, or youtube poop. that was one of the most significant moments of internet, especially youtube. every kid born in 2010 and teens should know this. but after ticking out these qualities, turns out kids at my school only had intenrest in tiktok, instragram, tumblr (yes, kids still know that) and speaking of tumblr, its old web and dystopicweb all at the same time. thanks to my religious studies teacher he said that tumblr when it came out was extremely chaotic.
would definitely say "i admit that" everyday, twitter is filled with new 13 year olds and mostly kids born in 2010. 2010 was one of the booms of internet because kids born in that went on to become two faced meme animators. i used to be one of them. but after seeing the potentials of getting a better life i moved on. still sad to se that crypto men who are not married are venting their life on why women dont choose crypto investors and think they are art collectors. i had interests in crypto, but quit very fast. gas fees, drama with men who think crypto saved the world.
my statement is: i wish and pray that the old web slowly returns and healed the state of internet. it would take 5-9 years, to help plant trees in the medium. kids nowadays are rude because they wanted love. they really needed one. kindness too, also affected them. i observed back then that kids in roblox always trolls and fighting back makes them unstoppable. so it came to the sense that children are exposed to adult content at a young age because parents weren't introduced to how internet hazards changed the world forever. i want to save them. halt the dramatic content, make something better, and at least - make them kind.
oh and also i am making a project (not really) that its a plugboard and a list of webmasters and normal people who would want to change the internet and make it a better place like the old days. no war. the page will be a list of peoples names or usernames, and they can leave messages. they had to contact me here or send a message to saltwatertaffy111@outlook.com their name/username following a message on opinions and what they would want to see. if it was me, i would want to see people slowly making internet more kind, and more oldweb, of course. i also want corporates to look at more expansice designs, rather than accessiblity and those stupid usage of immersive. just be creative, accessibility is also a need, but as long as its more creative and attractive, not too simple, internet can be healed.
